Boro's record is 1 win (their last game) in last 6. Lost 3 drawn 2.
They sit 21st in form table in last 6 games.
In contrast we sit 7th. W3 drawn 1 lost 2.
Home form for Boro fairs better. They are 13th. W3 D1 L2.
The loses and draws are their last 3 home results.
Our away form sees us also in 13th. W2 d1 L3.
So a draw is on the cards, based on those very crude stats.
But we know this is football, not spreadsheets!
I think the foundations left by Martin have helped Manning hugely.
But if he wasn't playing a similar way, and Manning wasn't a good manager, then they'd not be benefitting from the work done by Russell.
So credit to Manning and Martin. And also for the MK Board for picking a manager that could continue playing in a similar way and not throw away all of that work.
you cant just take those figures in isolation.
You also need to look at how the fixtures are spaced out - how many 3 games in a week? how many home vs away games in that period, especially the 3 game weeks? And the calibre of opposition.
The absolute truth is, we are a good way from where we need to get to. Which to me is very exciting. Home performances and results are hugely encouraging. Away obviously needs more work.
And tomorrow will be really interesting to see how he lines up based on his comments about the last time we played 3 in a week, and the tiredness in the squad.
