Žan Vipotnik’s second-half penalty gave Swansea City a well-earned victory over Hull City as they made it four consecutive league wins without conceding, a feat last achieved in March 2008.
The Slovenian forward netted his seventh goal of the season after his goal bound effort was blocked by the hand of John Egan, leaving referee Ben Toner no choice but to point to the spot.
Backed by a sell-out bank holiday crowd of nearly 19,000 at the Swansea.com Stadium, the Swans dominated proceedings and looked the more threatening side throughout against a Hull City team fighting to avoid the drop.
Alan Sheehan’s side made two changes from the win at Sunderland, with Joe Allen and Vipotnik returning to the starting XI. The result further underlined Swansea’s remarkable late-season resurgence, both in form and confidence.
Speaking after the match, caretaker boss Sheehan felt his side fully deserved the win, after dominating the game against the Tigers.
The Swans next fixture is on Easter Monday, with a trip to London to play Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
