Sheehan – We deserved the win

Alan Sheehan praised Swansea City’s attacking mindset after they secured a fourth consecutive win and clean sheet with a dominant 1-0 victory over Hull City.

The Swans controlled the game from the off, registering over 20 shots to Hull’s three, and got their breakthrough when Žan Vipotnik converted from the spot after his goalbound strike was handled in the box.

The Slovenian’s seventh goal of the season was enough to seal the points and extend Swansea’s superb run of four straight league wins without conceding for the first time since March 2008.

Sheehan was full of praise for his team’s energy, discipline, and determination to get the job done.

“I definitely think we deserved the win, there were massive aspects of that performance that were excellent,” he said.

“I think the tempo we played at was outstanding, and the only thing that was missing was a goal, and maybe a second one.

“There are things we can improve on in that aspect, but in terms of how we played it was incredibly pleasing.

“In the second half we understand that Hull are a team who are fighting for points to stay in the league, and that there will be a reaction.

“Our intent was there, we were trying to attack. Sometimes we may have forced it a bit at moments, but I am not going to get onto the players about that because of what we are doing and the momentum we have got.
