Sheehan senses growing belief within squad after perfect week

Alan Sheehan says he can sense growing belief in the Swansea City squad after their 1-0 win at Sunderland made it three victories and clean sheets in a week.

Captain Ben Cabango’s goal sealed a deserved result, lifting the Swans into the top half of the Championship. It was their sixth clean sheet in nine games, with 17 points collected in that run.

After back-to-back wins over Derby County and Plymouth Argyle in midweek, Sheehan praised his players for their resilience and quality against a strong Sunderland side who had only lost once at home all season.

“I am delighted that we have been able to come here and perform like that, it’s three wins and three clean sheets, so I suppose it does make it a perfect week.

“They have been three different performances if you go through them.

“We faced a team who will be in the play-offs and have the chance to be three games from playing in the Premier League, so I am incredibly proud of the players again.

“They are a good bunch of lads, we believe in them and they are showing belief in themselves.”
